Flood Risk Framework
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines the Flood Risk Framework as:

A system devised by The Scottish Environment Protection Agency that aids decision-making in spatial planning. Areas are filtered into three categories based on their level of potential risk of flooding. The categories are: • Little or No Risk Area: Annual probability of watercourse, tidal or coastal flooding is less than 0.1% (1 in 1000 years); • Low to Medium Risk Area: Annual probability of watercourse, tidal or coastal flooding in the range 0.1% - 0.5% (1 in 1000 years to 1 in 200 years); and • Medium to High Risk Area: Annual probability of watercourse, tidal or coastal flooding greater than 0.5% (1 in 200 years).’ |
